Italy await Lioness pride

England will face Italy in the Euro 2025 semi-finals.

They play on the 22nd July at 8pm.

It will all be about rest and recuperation for England for now until preparations begin on the weekend no doubt.

Kelly outguns Swedes in Zurich

Chloe Kelly, the woman of the match, spoke with BBC Sport:

Yeh tell me about it. We get as stressed as the fans I think. We weren’t at our best in the first-half we know that. When we you come off the bench, you take your chance. I didn’t feel any pressure, I just looked to do my best. I just wanted to put balls in the box and do what I can. It is riding the storm together, knowing we can bounce back from anything. We should that tonight.

Skipper reflects on dramatic victory

Speaking with BBC Sport, Williamson aired her thoughts when asked about how it felt and whether they had practiced penalties:

I just feel really, really proud. That was awful to watch at the end. I just love that we never give up, we never know we are done. Loads, I know there were lots of misses but that just happens. That is what I am most proud of, you want to create an environment where when people are called upon, they do their job. We’ve played three finals in a row now, where you lose, you go home.

Lucy in the sky with diamonds

Lucy Kelly stole the show in Zurich this evening.

Coming off the bench, he crossing into the box immediately caused problems for the Swedes and she supplied both Lioness goals.

She seems to be the person England can rely upon when their backs are against the wall to get them out of trouble.

Wiegman’s side keep hopes alive

Many had hoped the Lionesses could defend their Euro title again.

However, when they trailed by two goals in their quarter-final with Sweden, it seemed like they were heading home.

Such is the drama of this game we all love, nobody could have predicted a penalty shootout win sending them through.

Pubgoers struggle with drama

As the penalty shootout unfolded, it was a case of nervousness, fear and excitement.

You could not take your eyes off it, one moment England were heading out, then it all changed.

Not many fans will have any fingernails left after that one, but the partying will go on long into the night.
