Will be coming up next on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Now, does the roof stayed closed or will we get some outdoor conditions?

GAME, SET AND MATCH!
Carlos Alcaraz is through! When he found his top level, there was nothing Fabian Marozcan could do as the defending champion races away to a 6-1 4-6 6-1 6-2 win.
Alcaraz was not perfect and there was a second-set blip, but he enjoyed being pushed by Marozsan and was always able to raise it.
Nine wins in a row at the French Open for Alcaraz and the title defence marches on.
“It was a great match, I think I started pretty well and was high on confidence, in the second set he started to play much better and didn’t miss at all.
“It was difficult to deal with but I stayed strong, I had a really strong last two sets.”

Carlos Alcaraz moves a game away
Classic Carlos Alcaraz! Fabian Marozsan makes the mistake of leaving an angled volley within the Spaniard’s reach. Alcaraz races to the backhand and steers the pass down the line to set up break point. Then Marozsan does it again on the other side, leaving the channel for the forehand winner.
Alcaraz takes the double break to lead 5-2 and he is now a game away from the third round.

‘I got lucky’: Nuno Borges on Casper Ruud win
Nuno Borges, 29, recorded his first victory against a top-10 opponent and the World No 41 advanced to the third round of the French Open for the first time in his career.
“I was fighting a lot especially that first set. I felt completely drilled. He was playing with a huge intensity and I wasn’t handling the situation the best. It was too much for me.
“I kept trying and I realised he started to slow down a little bit. Obviously he wasn’t a 100 per cent today, or I’m sure the result would not have been the same. But I’m still proud of how I battled.
“From the beginning until the end, I gave myself a shot and I got lucky.
“I realised he wasn’t moving too well to the sides. I thought he was still quick moving to my drop shots. I tried to open up the court a bit and I got some more free points.
“I thought, if I stay aggressive I will have a good chance. In the end I thought I played really consistent and really solid. I’m really happy. It’s a big milestone for me to reach the third round.”

Normal service resumes in Carlos Alcaraz match
Unfortunately for Fabian Marozsan, Carlos Alcaraz came back to life in the third set. The French Open champion wins 93 per cent of his first serve points, blasts nine winners to three unforced errors and races away to a 6-1 third set in just 23 minutes.
The Spaniard now leads 6-1 4-6 6-1 after that little blip.

Injured Casper Ruud knocked out of French Open by Nuno Borges in huge shock
Two-time runner-up Casper Ruud became the biggest causality of the French Open so far as the seventh seed was knocked out by Nuno Borges.
Ruud appeared to struggle with an injury and won just one game in the final two sets as Borges progressed to the third round with a 2-6 6-4 6-1 6-0 win.
The Norwegian took a medical timeout and received treatment on his left leg after the third set but carried on playing on the Court Suzanne-Lenglen.
However, he did not win another game as the Madrid Open champion suffered his earliest Roland Garros exit since 2018.
Ruud reached the French Open final in 2022 and 2023, losing to Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, and was beaten in the semi-finals last year by Alexander Zverev.

SECOND SET! Carlos Alcaraz vs Fabian Marozsan
And we’re all square! Fabian Marozsan converts the early break and levels the match against Carlos Alcaraz. He does so with a big serve and forehand combo, with Alcaraz finding the net.
Marozsan is undoubtedly looking more confident on the big stage. But Alcaraz again just had a lapse in the first few points of the second set and now pays the price.

Marozsan a game from the second set as Ruud trails
Marozsan is looking much more settled now and that forehand is coming into life. The Hungarian moves a game away from the second set after coming from 15-30 down on serve to move 5-3 ahead.
Over on Court Suzanne-Lenglen, Nuno Borges has gone two sets to one up against seventh seed Casper Ruud, breaking the Norwegian three times in a 6-1 set!
There could be a big upset brewing…

Carlos Alcaraz vs Fabian Marozsan
It wouldn’t quite be a Carlos Alcaraz match in the early stages of a grand slam without some ups and downs.
From winning the first set, Alcaraz then goes a break down in the second, with Marozsan having the chance to go a double-break up.
Alcaraz saves and holds, but the Hungarian leads 2-1 in the second.
Meanwhile, Nuno Borges has levelled the match against seventh seed Casper Ruud. The Portuguese has won the second set 6-4.
