Kaizer Chiefs were hammered 4-1 by SuperSport United in a league game which was played at FNB Stadium on Tuesday.
Samir Nurkovic, Christian Saile, Gamphani Lungu and Siphesihle Ndlovu all scored for Matsatsantsa on the night.
Amakhosi’s only goal was scored by new signing Glody Lilepo in the 30th minute of the first half.
SuperSport United were all over Chiefs from the word go, and it came as no surprise when Nurkovic fired them ahead in the third minute.
Chiefs rallied to equalise in the 30th minute through Lilepo but SuperSport United restored their lead two minutes later though Saile.
Nurkovic and Saile are two former Chiefs players who were deemed surplus to requirements by their club coaches.
SuperSport United went into the tunnel for halftime with their tails up, and Chiefs needed to up their game in the second half.
Nonetheless, it was never going to be easy for Chiefs against a Gavin Hunt’s side that had the lead against a very disorganised Nasreddine Nabi’s team.
In the 63rd minute, SuperSport United killed off the game by netting their third of the night through Lungu.
Chiefs then suffered another blow six minutes later as Gaston Sirino was shown a second yellow card.
The Soweto giants had to play with 10 men for at least 21 minutes but they were facing a mammoth task of scoring two or more goals.
With seven minutes of regulation time to go, Ndlovu put the final nail in Amakhosi’s coffin as he made it FOUR for SuperSport United.

Kick-off at FNB Stadium tonight is at 19:30.
Amakhosi head into this encounter seeking revenge over Matsatsantsa from the first round results.
At the time, SuperSport United narrowly beat Chiefs 1-0 to walk away with maximum points.
That was SuperSport United’s home game which was played at their alternative venue in Polokwane’s New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Now, Nabi has named what could be his most trusted soldiers in the team, Bruce Bvuma keeping his place in goals.
He will be protected by the likes of Reeve Frosler, Bradley Cross, Inacio Miguel and Rushwin Dortley.

Thabo Cele continues to enjoy game time at Chiefs alongside captain Yusuf Maart in the middle of the park.
Meanwhile, Pule Mmodi and Gaston Sirino will be attacking from deep to deliver services to both Tashreeq Morris and Glody Lilepo upfront.
Kaizer Chiefs head into this encounter sitting sixth on the log with 25 points from 17 league games played.
They could move up to fourth on the standings with a win over Gavin Hunt’s team on the night.
SuperSport United, on the other hand, could move a spot up from 12th to 11th if they claim maximum against Chiefs.
The Tshwane outfit has collected just 17 points from the 17 matches they have played which is unlike them.
