Kaizer Chiefs have welcomed a Portuguese-based South African defender for a trial to Naturena.

The Glamour Boys are set to compete both locally and on the continent next season.

According to the latest reports, a former KZN Academy star has surfaced at Naturena.

24-year-old right-back Mhleli Mabuza is undergoing a trial at Naturena after parting ways with Portuguese side Louletano D.C.

Mabuza has spent the past six years in Portugal at various lower division clubs.

Now, according to KickOff, Kaizer Chiefs are assessing the full-back with a blockbuster transfer in mind.

“Amakhosi are believed to have recently welcomed defender Mhleli Mabuza for an assessment period at the club’s training base in Naturena this week,” the publication reported.
