DONALD TRUMP has revealed that the Oval Office is keeping the Club World Cup trophy.

The US President watched on at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday as Chelsea thrashed Paris Saint-Germain 3-0.

And he revealed that Fifa chief Gianni Infantino has told him they can keep the originalCredit: Rex

But he then gatecrashed the trophy-lifting ceremony as the Blues went to lift the golden trophy, causing confusion among the London team’s ranks.

Since the final, the trophy has been a feature in the White House.

And the 79-year-old has since revealed that he will be keeping it close at hand, with Fifa president Gianni Infantino telling him they were making a SECOND trophy.

Speaking to Dazn, he said: “I said, When are you going to pick up the trophy?

“[They said] ‘We’re never going to pick it up. You can have it forever in the Oval Office. We’re making a new one.’

“And they actually made a new one [for Chelsea]. So that was quite exciting, but right now [the original] is in the Oval.”

Whether the two trophies are exactly identical is currently unclear.

Infantino first revealed the trophy, which stands at approximately 17 inches tall and weighs almost 5kg, back in March in the Oval Office.

Trump also joked after the game that he may sign an executive order to change the name of the sport, known as soccer in America, to football.

This comes ahead of the World Cup proper next year.
