Roko Nakavulevu.
International Secondary School’s Roko Nakavulevu has broken sub-junior junior boys high jump record at the Suva Zone One Athletics competition.
The 14-year-old broke the record by two centimetres, jumping a height of 1.82 meters at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
He won gold in the sub-junior boys high jump at the Fiji Finals competition last year, and is looking to do the same again at this year’s competition.
The year-nine student says preparation has been tough over the past few weeks, getting up at 5am almost every morning to train at the stadium.
Nakavulevu will also be competing in the sub-junior boys 200m event tomorrow.
All the action for the Zone can be caught Live on FBC Sports.
