For our districts, the IDC is about pride. Players take great honour in wearing their team colours, while supporters come from near and far to stand behind their teams. This passion and rivalry have made the IDC a special part of our football history.
The 86th edition will create another piece of history, with the Kiribati National Team and the Fiji U-17 National Team competing in the IDC for the first time.
We extend a warm Fijian welcome to the Kiribati National Team. Their participation adds a special Pacific flavour to the tournament and strengthens the friendship we share through football.
It will also be a valuable experience for our Fiji U-17 players. Playing against senior teams in a major tournament like the FMF IDC will give our young players an opportunity to compete at a higher level, gain experience and continue their development.
We are proud of the progress being made in Fiji Football, particularly the opportunities being provided to our young players. The FMF IDC continues to play an important role by providing a stage for established players as well as the next generation of footballers to showcase their talent.
