The 2025 BIC Fiji FACT kicked off in classic tournament fashion, delivering drama, grit, and glimpses of brilliance as eight teams took to the field in four thrilling encounters at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

PartsLink Automotive and Manasa Export, Nadroga FC and Bula Rentals & Tours Nadi FC opened the tournament with a goalless draw. Both sides showed flashes of promise but lacked the cutting edge in the final third. Nadroga’s midfield battled well, while Nadi looked more composed in possession, yet neither side could break the deadlock in a tightly contested affair.

The second clash of the day provided the first goals of the tournament. Defending champions Paradise Seafood Supplies Lautoka FC went ahead through veteran striker Saula Waqa in the 57th minute. But Blue Gas Navua FC responded brilliantly as Sairusi Nalaubu equalized late in the match to earn a hard-fought point. It was a spirited performance from Navua against one of the tournament favorites.

Ajay Trading Rewa FC became the first team to claim all three points after a professional display against Dayals Sawmillers Ba FC. Rewa’s captain Setareki Hughes found the net in the 24th minute, and the Delta Tigers managed the game well to see out the victory. Ba pushed forward in the second half, but Rewa’s disciplined defense held firm to seal a vital opening win.

The final match of the day saw two tournament giants—Stratum Construction Suva FC and Extra Supermarket Labasa FC—cancel each other out in a goalless draw. The game was intense and physical, with both sides defending resolutely. Despite a few late chances, neither team managed to find the winner, closing out Day One with a point each.
