Youth players impress: Yusuf |

Youth players playing in the Digicel Premier League this season are getting experience and exposure, says Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf.

He said this year Fiji FA had made it mandatory for all districts in Premier and Senior Division to field two youth players in the team, one player to be on the starting lineup and the other on the bench.

Yusuf says the aim main is to get this players more game time.

“We want to see our future stars getting more game time, exposure and experience playing with more experienced players,”

“We are happy some players are performing above our expectation which is good for the team and the players,”

“An 18- year old Natabua High School Student Year 13 student Junior Dekedeke starred in the Lautoka side last weekend against Navua scoring two great goals,” said Yusuf.

“Another 18-year old is Nabil Begg from Ba who is a future star and he is also in the Digicel National Men’s Football team,”

“Even Rewa’s Neemish Prasad has shown his potential just name few but so far all the teams have given their youth player’s chance which is very good,” said Yusuf.

Yusuf said some of these players were never given chance to play for their districts.

“Some of the youngsters have been training but were never given chance so now they are showing their worth,” said Yusuf
