Nabil Begg,17 was the hero for the Online IT Solutions Ba side when he netted the winning goal against Unique Rubber Stamp Suva side in round seven of the Digicel Premier League last Sunday at ANZ Stadium in Suva.
Both teams were level 1-1 when Begg who was substituted in the second half and got the winner in the 84th minute after walking his way past two defenders on the left hand edge of the box and laying the ball into the path of Darold Kakasi who curled it back into his path, giving the youngster the chance to connect with a header which left goalkeeper Emori Ragata and the Whites defence stunned.
The Kamil Muslim College Year 12 student said he was proud to don the black jersey.
“I am happy that I have been given an opportunity to play for my home district,” said an elated Begg
Begg said when he entered the field he had in his mind to score a goal.
“I was confident that I will score a goal because when I entered the field I kept praying to the almighty to give me strength to score in the game.
“We trained so hard and I thank God for the strength. It’s not easy to play and I am happy that I made my team win,”
Begg dedicated the winning goal to his parents, friends, teammates and fans.
