A two days women’s football coaches workshop will be held this weekend at the Fiji FA Headquarters in Vatuwaqa.
The workshop will be conducted by Digicel national women’s football team head coach Lisa Cole.
Cole said the main aim of the workshop was to elevate women’s football in the country.
“The workshop is to help the coaches broaden their knowledge, skills and basic tactical exercises of the sport, “said Cole
“I also want to educate them on fielding the national players to the positions they fit well,”
She said this would also give coaches to follow the new Fiji FA football philosophy.
“We want all the teams to have the same football philosophy and these coaches will implement all they will learn from the workshop in their respective district teams which will for sure see competitive women’s football competition this year, “said Cole
“It is not only about the players, but it’s also about the education level of the coaches as well which is very important.”
The Digicel Women’s Inter-District Championship will kick off next week at Lawaqa Park in Suva with six top teams.
In Group A are Labasa, Suva, and host Nadroga while Ba leads Group B with Rewa and Tailevu Naitasiri.
