Wales vs New Zealand LIVE: TV channel, stream and kick-off time as Welsh field weakened team for All Blacks

Good afternoon and welcome to Cardiff for this, the first autumn international of this year’s series of games in the northern hemisphere.

And the first clash is a cracker, it’s Wales vs New Zealand in the Welsh capital for the first clash between these two teams since the third place clash at the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Gosh hasn’t it been too long? A tough old slog, since the last time we could watch top class international rugby on this hallowed turf?

It was February 22, 2020 the last time Wales played a match in the Principality Stadium in front of 74,000 screaming fans.

That match was a thrilling 23-27 defeat to France, an absolutely superb match that set up an even better one 12 months later (if you’re not Welsh that is).

Since then the Principality Stadium has been used as a field hospital called the Dragon’s Heart Institute, which was an overflow ward in case Covid cases in Wales got so out of hand the NHS needed more beds.

This mean the Welsh team played their autumn internationals in Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli, 56 miles down the M4.

And the matches were not much fun.

Wales LOST their final Six Nations game, a delayed clash against Scotland, before going on to lose to England, Ireland and France last autumn.

It actually gave Wayne Pivac the confidence to blood some youngsters to take in to the Six Nations in February, where Wales were far more effective, going on to win the tournament.

And it would have been a Grand Slam, but for a last-second try from the French against the 13 men in red on the pitch. An absolute heartbreaker.

After a summer tour of Canada and Argentina, minus any Lions, they arrive up against the best team in the world on current form.
