Two overseas-players were part of the forty reps who attended a week-long trial for the Digicel national Under 16 team last week at Fiji FA Academy in Ba.
Head coach Sunil Kumar said they had a very successful trial.
“Actually we had a big number because more players were scouted from the Digicel under 17 Youth League and from the Digicel Fiji Secondary School’s IDC,”
“We also had two players from Australia,” said Kumar
Kumar said this was not the final camp for the team.
“We have yet to confirm the final squad. The door will be still open as there will still be youth competition going on hence any potential talent identified will be drafted into the squad,”
The OFC U17 Qualifiers will be held in Fiji in January next year.
“We are planning a full-time camp from the end of this month so we could prepare our best for the tournament which is just three months away. “said Kumar
