Four teams have been confirmed for the semi-finals of the Vodafone National Regional Club Championship 2020 after completion of the Group stages at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka last weekend.
Defending champions Dayal’s Steel Yalalevu Club Football of Ba topped Group A with Nadi’s Ezy Kool Max Nalovo FC as runners-up while Rewa’s Saram Hangers Kasavu FC came out winners from Group B with Greenstar FC of Nadroga as runner-up.
The semi-finals of final will be played at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka this weekend.
At 2pm in the first semi-final Kasavu FC will take on Nalovo FC while Yalalevu FC and Greenstar will battle in the second semi-final at 4pm.
Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal says the semi-finals will be very interesting and exciting matches.
“Looking at the four teams and I will say it is going to be a thrilling semi-finals as all four teams are equally good and competitive,”
“We cannot predict who will the tournament this year, “said Pal.
Pal said the crowd support at Lawaqa Park was amazing.
“It was great to see fans coming out in number and supporting the teams and we expect the same this weekend,” said Pal
Yalalevu CF has experience Ba reps Malakai Tiwa, Sanaila Waqanicaku, Junior Balbir Singh, Aisea Codro and youngstars Nabil Begg, Shivneel Singh to name a few while Greenstar has services of Nadroga reps Tomasi Tuicakau,Setareki Vola, Waisea Tale, Semesa Sacere,Taniela Raubula and Zain Ali.
Kasavu FC has district reps with the likes of goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau, Peniame Drova, Joseteki Tamudu, Setareki Hughes, Bruce Hughes, Gabrieli Matanisiqa, Anish Khem and Kavaia Rawaqa while Nalovo FC will have the service of Nadi reps Vereti Dickson, Josua Tawake, Christopher Kumar, Shaheel Goundar, Napolioni Qasevakatini, Serevi Waqa, Husseini Khan, Sakaraia Naisua and Vuniuci Tikomaimereke.
