The England international has emerged as one of Tuchel’s top transfer targets this summer – with the 27-year-old seen as a potential replacement for the departing Romelu Lukaku.
With just one year remaining on his contract at the Etihad, Sterling has been closely followed by a number of top clubs across Europe – with Chelsea doing their best to secure his signature.

According to The Telegraph, the Blues are preparing an opening bid for Sterling, who is valued by City between £50million-£60m.
It’s reported that Real Madrid and Barcelona also hold an interest in Sterling, but the City winger would prefer a move to Chelsea due to the opportunity to play regular first-team football and compete for trophies.
The Blues see Sterling as an attacking replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who is close to sealing a loan return to Inter Milan ahead of the upcoming season.
With City making the additions of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez in attack, the 27-year-old’s could see his game time at the Etihad reduced even further which has alerted teams across Europe.

It’s understood that Tuchel is set to receive £200m to spend in the transfer market this summer, with new owner Todd Boehly reportedly promising six new signings.
The American took over the club from Roman Abramovich in the past month after the Russian oligarch decided to sell the Stamford Bridge club in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and British government sanctions.
Among the main targets are Matthijs de Ligt, Jules Kounde and Sterling, with Jonathan Clauss, Ousmane Dembele, Richarlison and Gabriel Jesus also mooted.
Boehly, who is Chelsea’s chairman and acting sporting director, is understood to have explored the possibility of offering a number of the club’s unwanted players as part of bids for Tuchel’s transfer targets.
