Tavua leads Viti Levu league race

Tavua maintains the lead in the Digicel Senior League Viti Levu zone after the end of round seven last Sunday.

The Goldminers were back in business after a 0-2 loss against Lami in round six. The side bounced back to beat Northland Tailevu 4-0 at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Ba on Sunday.

The win puts Tavua on 15 points while Rakiraki after a 5-0 win over Lami is in contention with 15 points also but the Tavua leads with a better goal difference.

Northland Tailevu sits on fourth place with seven points while Lami is on the bottom of the points table with four points.

The winner of the Viti Levu zone will feature in the national play-off against the Vanua Levu zone for the promotion in the premier division.

Meanwhile, the Digicel Senior League Vanua Levu zone will be played this weekend.

At Wailagi Ground in Taveuni on Saturday at 2pm, Taveuni will play Savusavu. On Sunday at Bua Primary School ground in Bua, Bua will host Dreketi at 2pm while Seaqaqa will face Nadogo at Seaqaqa Muslim Primary School ground at the same time.
