Tailevu Naitasiri on a mission

The Tailevu Naitasiri U16 Youth side is on a mission this season in the Digicel U16 Youth League.

The side created a major upset last weekend beating defending champions Northland Tailevu 1-0 in round one at Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa.

Ushant Lal was the hero for side after netting the lone goal in the 49th minute of play.

Tailevu Naitasiri coach Intiaz Ali said he was happy with the result.

“We have set our mission this year and that is to do wonders after our senior got promoted so the boys have really shown their commitment which brought the glory for us,” said Ali

“We came well prepared for the match as we knew Northland was a very good side and were the defending champions and I salute my boys for marvelous performance,”

“We will be taking every match it comes and we will prepare accordingly,”

“We want to better our standings this year and to be competitive and I thank my players for the job well done,”

“I also like to thank former Fiji FA Development Officer Raju Goundar who has joined us as our technical advisor,”

Northland Tailevu coach Rajesh Singh said they did not expect the defeat.

“Honestly we came here to win after being undefeated in the last competition but congratulations

To the Tailevu Naitasiri side for the victory,”

“It’s not the end yet I am sure my boys will come back firing in the next game,”

Meanwhile, in other matches Suva and Navua played to a 1-all draw.
