Tailevu Naitasiri and Northland to play on Saturday

The match between Tailevu Naitasiri and Northland Tailevu in the Digicel Senior League will be played at 2 pm this Saturday at Ratu Cakobau Park Ground Two in Nausori.

Although Tailevu Naitasiri is confidently aware of their domination in the men’s senior league, they will not let their guard down when they will face their neighbors.

The side has an unbeaten record in the competition after completing the first round of games.

In the first round, Northland hosted the match at Uprising Sports Center which was won by Tailevu Naitasiri 2-0.

Tailevu Naitasiri coach Nigel Khan says their aim is to keep their unbeaten run intact.

“We know Northland is a very good team with some experience and young players and they will come out firing against us,”

“Our aim is to continue with our winning streak. Northland will surely be aiming to break our record and will come out more prepared after their loss in the first round, “said Khan

“We have full respect for them and we are also aware they will be a different team against us after their 3-0 loss to Nasinu last weekend,”

The former Rewa coach says they will take the match as final.

“Every game is important for us as this is just the beginning of the second round. Three vital points is at stake so we are preparing accordingly, knowing Northland, will come out firing and our players will need to be fully focused throughout the game.”

Northland Tailevu coach Kritesh Prasad says they will surely give Tailevu Naitaisiri a tough game.

“We have learned from our loss against Nasinu last weekend and have ironed out our mistakes to face Tailevu Naitasiri,” said Prasad

“We missed some of our senior players in our last match and I am happy they are back in training. They will surely boost our performance this weekend.”

“We have a very young team and the boys have switched their focus on the task ahead this Saturday,”

The match was scheduled to be played on Sunday.

In other DSL matches on Sunday at Penang High School ground Rakiraki will play Tavua at 3pm while at the same time Nasinu and Lami will battle at Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa.
