A 20-member Digicel national futsal team marched into camp at the Fiji FA Academy in Vatuwaqa on Sunday.
Head coach Jerry Sam says the team is preparing for the OFC futsal invitational tournament which will be played in September.
“It is good that we have started our preparation early for the championship.”
“It is also great news that we will have two teams in the tournament. We will have the main team and a selection team,” said Sam
“I will see how things go in our training before naming the team. I want our youth players for the selection side so they can also get exposure and game time in the tournament for future,”
Sam said he had faith in all the players.
“I have selected the players who have a heart for futsal and I am happy they are adapting to my style of coaching,” said Solomon Islander
“We have six weeks of camp and I am sure the boys will be at their best before the championship,”
