The Rewa Women’s football side created a major upset in the Digicel Women’s Super League beating Ba 6-5 in an entertaining encounter at the Uprising Sports Center on Saturday.
Lavenia Naweni scored four goals while Naomi Cokanasiqa scored one for the Ladies in Black.
Naweni struck the opener in the first two minutes while Tavaita Tikoisuva got the equaliser two minutes later.
Tikoisuva extended Rewa’s lead in the 32nd minute but Cokanisiqa found the equaliser just before the halftime break.
In the 50th minute of play, Nawen brought Ba into the lead but it was again cut short by Tikoisuva in the 55th minute with 3-all
Nawen extended Ba’s lead in the 66th and 83rd minutes but Rewa came back in the game and got the equaliser from Joyce Naceva in the 76th and 89th minutes.
In the 90th minute striker, Lora Bukalidi sealed the victory for the Rewa side giving them a win to remember as this was the first time the Lady Tigers have beaten Ba.
