Rewa appoints Singh | FijiFootball.com.fj

Rewa U19 Youth coach Rodicks Singh has been appointed interim coach of the senior team.

Singh replaces Marika Rodu who has rejoined Fiji FA as head coach of national women teams and women football development officer.

Singh who played for Rewa and Tailevu Naitasiri was an understudy to Rodu last year and guided the U19 Youth team undefeated in the Vodafone U19 Youth League.

Speaking to Fiji FA media, Singh said he was surprised to appointed as the coach of the senior team.

“I never believed that I will be given an opportunity to coach the team so early but I am proud that I have been given the chance to give back to my district.”

“I thank Rewa FC president Nazeel Buksh and his executive members for having faith in me, “said Singh.

“I heartily thank Marika Rodu for encouraging and guiding me as a coach. He was always supporting and passing his knowledge whenever I wanted,”

The Manoca, Nausori born Singh said it was a dream of his late dad who was a die-hard Rewa fan.

“I wish my dad was alive and would have seen me fulfilling his dream,” said Singh

His dad Umend Singh (RJ) was a die-hard Rewa fan and manager in 90s.

Singh will guide the team until the Rewa FA finds a suitable mentor for the team.
