Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham in November 2019, just months after he guided them to a losing Champions League final effort against Liverpool.
After a number of frustrating seasons, it was only last campaign, under Antonio Conte, that Spurs have been able to turn their fortunes around and return to the Champions League with a top-four finish.
Spurs though are second favourites to appoint Pochettino at 6-1, and they are followed by Manchester United and Newcastle at 7-1.
Pochettino had long been linked with becoming Manchester United’s long-term replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but Erik ten Hag has now taken over at Old Trafford.
It would have to take another failed spell at Old Trafford for a United manager if the Argentine’s next club is to be the Red Devils.
Newcastle, meanwhile, are in strong contention on the back of their Saudi-led takeover last year.

The French giants are in the midst of making major changes to the club after tying down star man Kylian Mbappe to a new deal – with the French forward said to be given new influence over the team’s direction.
In a 35-word Twitter statement on Tuesday, the French giants said: ‘Paris Saint-Germain confirm that Mauricio Pochettino has ended his role at the club. The club would like to thank Mauricio Pochettino and his staff for their work and wish them the best for the future.’
