Navua on a crossroad | FijiFootball.com.fj

The Navua FC will have to beat Moshin’s Insulation Nadroga FC side with two clear goals to avoid relegation from the Digicel Premier League.

The side kept its hopes alive after holding Nadi to a one-all draw on Sunday at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

If the side had lost they would have been demoted to the Senior Division from next year.

Navua currently sits at the bottom of the table with 6 points while Nadroga who is placed 7th has 9 points even after losing 3-nil to Lautoka on Sunday.

Nadi started strongly in the match as they dominated majority of the play. Striker Sakaraia Naisua scored the opener for Nadi while Navua captain Vineet Chand found the equaliser from the penalty spot.

In the second half the visitors were fired up as they controlled the game mounting pressure on Nadi.

Wave of attacks came from Navua but the side just could not find the back of the net mainly due to poor finishing.

The side was even reduced to 10 men as Mosese Balenaga was shown a second yellow for a foul play.

But this did not dampen their spirits as they continued to pressure the Jet Set team searching for that vital goal that would give them 3 points.

However, it was not meant to be as time caught up with them.

Navua will travel to Lawaqa Park to face the stallions and their fate will be decided on Sunday.
