MILLWALL striker Matt Smith has issued a Twitter plea to help him find petrol.
Or failing that, for someone to ‘give him a lift to training!’
The frenzy reached fever pitch on Monday morning, with one person filmed shamelessly filling up empty water bottles.
Drivers are facing huge queues at petrol station forecourts across the country as the petrol pump chaos caused by panic buying and a shortage of HGV drivers continues.
And Smith admits he could struggle to make it to Millwall training on Tuesday morning unless someone points him in the right direction to an available forecourt.
Failing that, the striker will also accept a lift!
Smith said: “Anyone in West London (Chelsea/Fulham) area know where’s a good bet to get fuel at the moment?

“Struggling to find anywhere! If not, can anyone give me a lift to training in the morning.”
Smith’s plea attracted numerous responses, with many seeing the funny side of the situation.
One replied: “Sure the groundsmen could lend you one of the tractors!”

Another said to the 6ft 5in striker: “Use your legs man… they’re long enough.”
One Russian fan noted: “Get a Tesla mate. Or come to Russia, we have enough petrol here.”
And TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara also got involved, adding: “I’m sure Tom Cairney will go out of his way for you bro.”
