Championship promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough and West Brom played to a draw in a competitive clash at the Riverside this evening.
Middlesbrough opened the scoring after Wolves loanee Ryan Giles made a great run down the left hand side to play in Chuba Akpom who squared the ball across the six yard box for academy graduate Isaiah Jones to finish.
Duncan Watmore nearly doubled Boro’s lead after 39 minutes, but he failed to get on the end of a another great move from Giles.
The Baggies levelled the game shortly after the break, with John Swift striking low to get a goal on his debut for his new club.
West Brom host Watford in their next league fixture on August 8, while Middlesbrough travel to QPR.
