In a ground-breaking initiative to promote women’s football and foster Pacific collaboration, the Nga Whanapoikiri Māori o Aotearoa Senior Women’s Team (MAURI) will visit Fiji next month for a historic two-match series.

The MAURI team will take on the Fiji National Women’s Senior Team (Kulas) and the OFC Women’s Champions League-bound Ba Women’s FC, in what promises to be an exciting display of talent and cultural exchange.

Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) President Rajesh Patel expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming visit.

“We are excited to host the MAURI team and look forward to strengthening our bond with Māori Football Aotearoa,’’ said Patel.

“The visit will not only provide an opportunity for high-quality competition but also celebrate the cultural connection between the two nations.

“This event promises to be a memorable experience, showcasing the power of sport to unite communities and cultures,” he added.
