Liverpool are ready to launch a bid to land Barcelona‘s teenage sensation Gavi according to reports in Spain.
The 17-year-old’s agent with the club expires in the summer of 2023 and he has been linked to a number of top sides over the past season.
Diario Sport have reported that Gavi’s agent, Ivan de la Pena, is at odds with Barcelona officials over a new contract at the Nou Camp.

It’s stated that as a result, Barcelona are under threat from Liverpool who are keen in signing the midfield starlet.
A report from the same publication earlier this week, said that De la Pena was unhappy with club president Joan Laporta, for comments he made suggesting Gavi’s representatives were dragging out contract negotiations and delaying their decision.
De la Pena instead contests that Gavi is yet to receive a formal renewal proposal from the club.

Gavi, who has come through the club’s famous La Masia academy, would prefer to stay in Barcelona as long as they can come to terms on a new contract.
Liverpool though would be able to offer the player a higher salary, given Barcelona’s financial situation at present.
Gavi first broke into Barcelona’s first at the beginning of the season and has enjoyed a great breakthrough campaign.

The 17-year-old has made 47 appearances in all competitions, in which he has contributed two goals and six assists to his name.
He has also earned six caps for Luis Enrique’s Spanish national team, after receiving a shock first call-up for their Nations League win over Italy in October.
Gavi has been linked with a number of other sides including Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich this season.
Liverpool have also recently been linked to Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni – though the French midfielder is more likely to join Real Madrid.
