Labasa, Nadroga create upsets | FijiFootball.com.fj

Labasa and Nadroga women’s football teams created upsets in the Digicel Women’s Super League last weekend.

The Arthur Simmons-coached Labasa side defeated defending champions RC Manubhai Ba Women’s side 4-0 at FFA Academy Ground in Ba while Nadroga edged Rewa 1-0 at Uprising Sports Center in Pacific Harbour last Saturday.

The win puts Labasa on top of the DWSL points table with 23 points while Ba moves to second place with 22 points.

After thrashing Tailevu Naitasiri 7-0 on Saturday at Uprising Sports Center, Suva sits on third with 14 points while Rewa remains on the fourth position with 10 points despite the loss.

Nadroga is on the fifth spot with seven points while Tailevu Naitasiri sits at the bottom of the table ladder with one point.

In round 10 this weekend Rewa Women will host Ba Women on Saturday at Uprising Sports Center at 4pm while on Sunday at 1pm Tailevu Naitasiri will face Labasa at Ratu Cakobau Park and at the same time, Nadroga will battle Suva at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
