Victorious Labasa FC president Rayaz Khan has praised his team for proving critics wrong in winning the 2022 Punjas Battle of the Giants Tournament on Sunday.
“Hats off to the boys,” They really played their hearts out,” said Khan
“Lots of people counted us out but the boys showed a lot of spirit in the tournament,”
“It’s all the sacrifice and hard work of the players and I salute them,”
Khan said the players would surely be rewarded for the win.
“For sure we will share the prizemoney with the players,”
“I would like to thank all the supporters that came out in numbers during the semi-finals and final which lifted the performance of the players with their cheers,”
“It was not an easy journey to the final and I must commend the assistance of former Labasa and national goalkeeper Tagi Vonolagi for standing up with the team for a week in Suva,”
“Thanks to our sponsors Farmtrac Tractors for their support and all the families of the players and officials for being behind the team during good and bad days,”
Labasa received $17000 as prizemoney while Rewa walked away with $5000
