Kaizer Chiefs need to bounce back after last week’s shocking 1-0 defeat to Golden Arrows in Durban.

BETWAY PREMIERSHIP: KAIZER CHIEFS VS SEKHUKHUNE UNITED

As confirmed by the Premier Soccer League, Amakhosi will host Babina Noko on Sunday, 19 January. Kick-off will be 15:30 from the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

TEAM NEWS:

According to the Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Ben Khalil Youssef, two players are injured, Edson Castillo and Gaston Sirino, while two others face fitness doubts: Ashley du Preez and Rushwin Dortley.

“Ashley this week won’t be with us, and I can’t say when he will be fit as we are still waiting for the report from the medical team about his state,” Youssef said as quoted by FARPost.

“We have a player that has a fracture, Castillo. Sirino is also out. Dortley, you know, when he came back from the national team, Bafana Bafana, he returned with an injury. So we are trying to manage and protest him. For this game [Sekhukhune], we don’t know yet if he will be with us or not. We are still waiting for the medical report,” the Kaizer Chiefs tactician concluded.

KAIZER CHIEFS BOSSES EXPECTED TO DELIVER

Kaizer Chiefs’ January transfer intentions have been heavily scrutinised. Here’s the latest from Amakhosi assistant coach Ben Khalil Youssef.

Speaking to the media before this weekend’s match against Sekhukhune United, Amakhosi’s Youssef was asked to share the latest transfer intentions at Kaizer Chiefs. According to the Tunisian, the technical team have given their list of wanted players. “The final decision, that’s the decision of the board, you know,” Yussef told journalists at the pre-match conference. “We have prepared everything on which players we need and what we want but it’s the decision of the board. They will also look at things from their side and see which one will be possible and they will take it from there. From our side we have done our part,” the Kaizer Chiefs technical team number two said.
