JUVENTUS will give Pep Guardiola whatever it takes to persuade the Manchester City boss to join them this summer.
Juve president Andrea Agnelli is convinced Guardiola is the missing link in his bid to win the Champions League for the first time since 1996.
And that means he will let Guardiola name his terms if he wants to move to Italy’s ‘Old Lady’.
As SunSport revealed, Juve are also prepared to splash £150million on Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk.
Guardiola — on around £15m-a-year at City — has insisted he plans to extend his stay at the Etihad into a fifth season.
City do not believe there is any question of him walking away.
Andrea [Agnelli, Juve chief] thinks Guardiola will want to come to Italy when it is time to leave England
But Juve are aware he has still to put pen to paper on a new contract.
And with Guardiola now admitting City are “big enough and good enough” to land star players without him, Agnelli will try his luck again.
One Juve insider said: “Andrea has never hidden his interest in Guardiola.
“Andrea thinks Guardiola will want to come to Italy when it is time to leave England.
“The question is whether this is the time but he will do everything he can to make it possible.”
Juventus tried to entice the Spaniard last summer to replace Max Allegri, eventually opting for Sarri.
But fears the ex-Chelsea boss is about to blow a record ninth Serie A title in a row have intensified concerns over his tenure.
Uefa will, in the next few weeks, rule on allegations of financial fair play breaches by City.
And any European ban might increase the chances of Guardiola jumping ship to Juve.
