It’s cruise control for Strathmore in the Championship

We are deep into the league phase of the KRU Championship and Strathmore Leos are in cruise control heading into the playoffs. The 2013 Kenya Cup finalists have won all 12 of their outings to date and are 7 points clear with four rounds of action left before the playoffs.

Their 22-0 win over Northern Suburbs took their tally for the season to 57 points as they seek to secure home semifinal qualification and eventual promotion back to the top tier Kenya Cup.

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) stayed second on 50 points after beating Egerton Wasps 41-0 in Kakamega.  A 43-18 win for Mean Machine over South Coast Pirates took their points tally to 40, 13 clear of fourth placed USIU Martials (27 points) who edged hosts Eldoret 15-13.

Northern Suburbs (25 points) and Catholic Monks (22 points) occupy the last two playoff slots but this could all change with four rounds of the regular season still to play.
