MANCHESTER UNITED will be desperate to put a nightmare week behind them by beating Tottenham tomorrow.
Pressure has been mounting on boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for weeks now but the heat is starting to get a little too hot to handle.
The Red Devils were thrashed 5-0 at Old Trafford by rivals Liverpool last week with their manager describing it as ‘rock bottom’.
He has survived to take the team to Spurs and knows that only a positive result will do.
But he heads to North London without the suspended Paul Pogba following his red card against Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Any one of United’s players could have little to complain about if they were dropped after Sunday’s humiliation.
However, a number of them are expected to get a shot at redemption, but Solskjaer is expected to make a number of changes.
French World Cup-winning defender Raphael Varane, who arrived from Real Madrid in the summer, returned to training this week after being on the sidelines injured.
Solskjaer has already been criticised for appearing to rush back captain Harry Maguire, who looks to be severely lacking match fitness, but he is desperate.
That means there is every chance that Varane could return to central defence alongside the skipper.
For added protection, expect Serbian destroyer Nemanja Matic to replace the out of sorts Fred.
He will be tasked with protecting the back four alongside Scott McTominay with Bruno Fernandes in front of them supporting Cristiano Ronaldo in attack.
Another big decision Solskjaer has to make will come in attack.
Many want Edinson Cavani involved due to his non-stop workrate, but it will be another recent sub that we think could get the nod instead.
Jadon Sancho has been mocked from all quarters due to his poor start to life at United after his big-money move from Dortmund.
And with Mason Greenwood due to keep his spot on the right, the recently fit-again Rashford could be given a breather with Sancho handed another opportunity to shine.
