Fiji Football Association started conducting the Return to Play preparedness and awareness sessions with the Premier districts since Friday.
The sessions were concentrated towards the smooth transition from the current detraining period to the gradual preparation progress over the period of 20 days taking into account the health/safety, medical, technical, coaches and medical aspects of preparation and participation under safe Covid-19 measures, and setting minimum standards to ensure that they are competition ready in the safest possible way.
The delegation includes Competitions Manager, Amitesh Pal, FIFA Forward Manager, Roneel Singh and Marketing Manager, Anushil Kumar, talking on the administrative matters, Physiotherapist Nishant Kumar focusing on the Covid-19 medical plans and procedures, medical aspects of return to play and injury prevention procedures while the Digicel National Head Coach, Flemming Serritslev and Technical Director, Timo Jankowski discussed on team preparations.
Serritslev emphasized on setting minimum guidance for 20 days training window allocated for the teams and how best it could be utilized to prepare a team for the Digicel Premier League, training and preparation expectations from the coaching staff.
Jankowski discussed on the duration of detraining period and the confinement and setting minimum standards for technical, mental and physical preparations when returning to football, the duration of expected return to fitness/return to play and going forward overall expectations as the new Technical Director.
The Fiji FA team conducted sessions with Nadroga FC on Friday, Nadi FC on Saturday and Lautoka FC and Ba FC today while the remaining teams will be visited next week.
