THE SUPER BOWL was the moment of dreams for Kansas City Chiefs stars last night – and one absolutely exhausted fan.
The sleepy sensation who dozed off during the first quarter of American Football’s showpiece event has gone viral online.
And not least because he probably paid around $10,000 for a ticket.
The incredible video of the middle-aged man catching 40 winks during the game was captured by journalist Karisa Maxwell.
She posted it on Twitter with the message: “Somehow, this man is sleeping through the #SuperBowl. We’re still only in the first quarter.”
The clip has since had almost 12,000 likes, 58,000 retweets – and a whole load of social media reaction.
One posted in response to the video: “No sleep mask. No ear plugs. No weighted blanket. Pure talent. #Respect.”
Another joked: “My man just wanted some time away from his kids.”
One said: “That is an expensive nap!”
A fellow user wrote: “I wonder if he purchased the other two seats for comfort during his slumber?”
Another quipped: “This man is most of the world.”
One comment read: “Man, he paid all that money just to be away from his wife. Legend.”
And a joke Twitter account with the username @sleepingman17 was even created in his honour.
Hopefully he woke up to see the Chiefs pull off a stunning comeback to beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
Maxwell later posted that the man had woken up, and added the message: “Oh no… His friend is currently showing him the video. The whole section knows. WHAT DO I DO?!”
The infamous sleeping man was not the only one to go viral.
US President Donald Trump was forced to delete a tweet – after congratulating the wrong state on their victory.
Trump mistakenly said well done to the “Great State of Kansas”.
But the Kansas City Chiefs are actually based in Kansas City, Missouri.
And those fans who managed to stay awake were freaked out by Shakira’s tongue dance during her half-time show with Jennifer Lopez.
