Expect firecrackers to explode when the semi-finals of the 2022 Digicel Fiji FA Cup Tournament (Fiji FACT) kick off at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka this Saturday.

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel says the four teams are equally good and competitive.

“The first semi-final will be between Group A winners 4R Electrical Labasa and Group B runners up Rc Manibhai Ba while Group B winners Ram’s Cleaning Services/ All Freight Logistics Suva will face Group A runners up Baker’s Fresh Biscuit Crackers Lautoka,” confirms Patel

“It’s going to be after a long time Labasa and Ba will feature in the semi-final of the Digicel FACT and I can assure you it’s going to be a thrilling and nail-biting fixture,”

“Both teams have mixed results in the Group stages but coming into the knockout situation it becomes a different ball game, “said Patel

“The second semi-final will be more electrifying as it will be the battle of two cities,”

“Suva has maintained its unbeaten record this season while Lautoka will be out to end its 20-year drought,”

“Like the first semi-final we can expect the same in the second semi-final as both Suva and Lautoka have been impressive in the group stages,” said Patel

Patel said the group stages of the tournament had been very competitive.

“As you, all have seen how the teams improved match by match and we had some unexpected results but overall, I would say the matches were very competitive,”

“All the teams displayed quality and entertaining football. “said Patel

“Congratulation and all the best to the four-team who will be part of the semi-finals on Saturday,” Patel added

“Nothing could be taken away from the minnows Tailevu Naitasiria and Nadroga because they have proved their worth in the tournament,”

“It was just the lady luck was not on their sides but they were competitive in the tournament which showed no teams are easy,”

The first semi-final kicks off at 2.30 pm while the second semi-final will be played at 5 pm. The final will be played at 4 pm on Sunday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
