Dillian Whyte reveals he ordered medics to inject his shoulder with morphine to get Wallin fight on as he calls out Fury

DILLIAN WHYTE has revealed that he ‘begged’ his team to let him inject his shoulder with morphine to get his fight with Otto Wallin on.

The Brit reportedly suffered an injury during his training camp in Portugal.

Whyte, 33, had been sent to fight Wallin before finally getting a shot at WBC gold against Tyson Fury.

But the Body Snatcher is now set to bypass the frustrated Swede into a title shot.

Addressing claims that the timing of his injury was ‘convenient’, Whyte said: “We need to put some respect on my name. Listen, I’ll fight anyone; I don’t care.

“I’m always willing to go and ready to fight, but my injury, I tried to make the fight.”

On what he’d been willing to do get his fight with Wallin on, he then added: “I begged my team to put some morphine in my shoulder to numb it for three or four rounds and go in there and give it hell.

“But they said, ‘Don’t be stupid, this isn’t your last fight. It’s not like your 40 and have one fight left in your career.

“So, they’re the brains, and I’m the muscleman, and I have to listen to what they say because they’ve guided me well and taken no wrong steps in my career.

“Let’s be honest. Who do you want to see me fight? Otto Wallin or Tyson Fury. Let’s go, baby.”

Whyte has taken risky fights in the past when in a commanding position to compete for the belt.

He earned the WBC interim heavyweight title by defeating Oscar Rivas in 2019, before beating Mariusz Wach in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia later that year.

Whyte then suffered defeat to Alexander Povetkin in August last year, before avenging his loss to the Russian in March.

He is now set to be officially ordered to fight Fury, rather than have his Wallin bout rescheduled, after the WBC received ‘medical certification’ of his shoulder issue.
