The Digicel Women’s Inter-District Championship which was scheduled from the 4th to the 6th of February at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka has been shifted to the end of February.
Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf says they had to change the dates due to the new changes in the return to play protocol by the Fiji National Sports Commission.
“Under the protocols, there are no inter-island travels for teams, but individuals can, so as a result, the Labasa Women will not be able to travel for the IDC so this is to give time to teams from Vanua Levu to travel to Viti Levu,” said Yusuf
“We have written to the Fiji National Sports Commission and we are still awaiting their response but we hope we will get the greenlight soon for the northern teams to travel,”
“Labasa women side is a very good team as seen in the Digicel Women’s Super League where they finished second in the competition and we do not want to miss them out in the IDC,” said Yusuf
Yusuf confirmed that the Digicel Futsal League 2021 will be played as scheduled this weekend and the Digicel Premier League will kick on February 6th.
