Delta Tigers lead |

THE Rewa Football team maintains its lead in the Digicel Premier League points table with a 2-0 win over All in One Builders Nadi FC at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka on Sunday.

Former Ba, Lautoka, and national rep Abbu Zaid proved his worth joining the Delta Tigers this season after scoring both goals after coming in from the bench.

Zaid was replaced with young Neemish Prasad in the 28th minute of play to add more power upfront for the Delta Tigers.

Nadi showed some constructive and organised football taking the half-time scores to 0-0.

Rewa coach Rodick Singh brought in Josaia Sela in the second half substituting Rusiate Matarerega to partner with Zaid.

Nadi may have been the better team in the first spell but Rewa delivered the first goal.

Iowane Matanisiga’s delivery was controlled by Josaia Sela inside the Nadi box before he placed the ball perfectly for Zahid who made no mistake for a 1-nil lead to Rewa in the 56th minute.

Zahid got his second ten minutes later after timing an Ivan Kumar cross before slotting it with one touch shot pass Nadi goalkeeper Tevita Ravia.

The Delta Tigers will face Suva in the top of the table clash this Sunday at ANZ Stadium in Suva at 5pm.
