Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is eager to bring a new central defender this summer following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, with Skriniar now viewed as a potential option for the London club.
Inter Milan have already turned down Paris St Germain’s £43million for the highly-rated Slovak but could be more open to doing a deal with Chelsea with the Italian club keen on Lukaku returning to the San Siro this summer.

Skriniar has been scouted by Premier League clubs before with Tottenham reportedly having a £30million bid for the defender rejected last year.
Inter turned down PSG’s opening offer that included Julian Draxler as part of a swap deal but would be open to negotiating a transfer with Chelsea should the English side make an improved bid closer to their valuation of £70million.
Chelsea are still hoping to lure top target Joules Kounde to Stamford Bridge but his latest injury setback means they may now switch their focus to Skriniar who has just one-year left on his contract.
Skriniar played a total of 48 games across all competitions for Inter last season and was a key figure in helping take them to a second-placed finish in Serie A.
