CHELSEA are reportedly eyeing Porto’s Alex Telles if they fail to land Ben Chilwell from Leicester.
Goal claims Brazilian left-back Telles, 27, has caught Frank Lampard’s attention with some impressive performances this season.
He has also rejected a new Porto contract and is expected to be sold for £40million this summer.
Chelsea are said to be on the hunt for a new left-back with doubts over Marcos Alonso’s future.
Ian Maatsen, 18, has just signed a new long-term deal but could be sent out on loan next season.
And Chelsea’s top target remains Leicester ace Chilwell.
The England international, 23, has made huge strides at the King Power Stadium.
Lampard believes Chilwell would fit in perfectly alongside Chelsea’s new crop of talent.
But Leicester are reluctant to sell and would demand a huge fee from the Blues.
It means Lampard has been looking elsewhere.
And he feels Telles would be keen on leaving Portugal for a taste of English football.
The Brazil international has played for the likes of Galatasaray, Inter Milan and Gremio.
But it’s at Porto where he’s really made a name for himself, winning the Primeira Liga title and his club’s Player of the Year award in 2018.
Telles is especially renowned for his attacking and technical qualities.
And he could now end up as Chelsea’s second senior signing of the summer after a £37m deal was sealed for Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech last month.
