Challenging year for football in Fiji: Patel

Greetings to you all

First of all, I would like to welcome all our readers and followers to this brand new year of 2021. Unfortunately, 2020 was not something we had anticipated for, however, with much determination and courage, we managed to smoothly finish the year despite the ongoing pandemic.

This year will once again see hive of activities in the domestic competition and in the international arena as well if everything is back to normal.

We are currently having the Vodafone National Regional Club Championship 2020 and I would like to congratulate the defending champion Dayals Steels Yalalevu Club Football, Esy Kool Max Nalovo FC, Sharam Hangers Kasavu Sports FC and host Greenstar FC for making it to the knockouts as the semifinals are set to be played at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka this Saturday.

The Fiji FA Competitions & Club Licensing Workshop will be held at Fiji FA Headquarters this weekend. This was postponed in December 2020 due to TC Yasa. It is compulsory for all the District Presidents & Secretaries together with their Women’s Football, Futsal Youth representatives and the senior head coach to attend as we have to comply with OFC’s Club Licensing regulations.

We will continue to bring all the latest football news every week here.

Happy reading and wishing you all the best for 2021.
