Bula Boys scores impact start in Vanuatu

The Digicel Bula Boys made a great start to the MSG Prime Ministers Cup 2022 campaign beating New Caledonia 1-0 in its first group match at Korman Stadium in Vanuatu on Saturday.

Gabiriele Matanisiga scored a beautiful header on his Senior National Team debut following a well-delivered corner kick from Praneel Naidu in the 91st minute.

Fiji went down to 10 players after right back Inoke Turagalailai was shown his marching orders after a second bookable offense in the 56th minute.

Head coach Flemming Serritslev says there is still more to improve in the next match.

“We played very bad in the first half, to be honest, we couldn’t get. We couldn’t get our combination game work and strange enough we got better when we got down to 10-men and we started to play a much better football combined and a much better-kept ball on the ground”

The Digicel Bula Boys will face Solomon Islands in its second group match on September 24.
