Bula Boys present their i-tatau President

The Digicel national football team presented their iTatau to His Excellency, President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, at the State house today.

President Katonivere shared with the players the importance of teamwork and respecting the coaches and technical team as they depart for official duties overseas.

“You are Fiji’s ambassadors, and you carry the hopes of every Fijian when you participate on and off the field. I wish to remind the team to respect your coaches, management, and trainers with the same respect you have for your parents.”

President Katonivere commended the team for their commitment, dedication, and sacrifice during their preparations.

“As your President, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your commitment and hard work during the months of preparations, even with the challenges we still face today like COVID-19.”

The team will depart for Qatar on Saturday for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ OFC preliminary competition.

The Bula Boys are pooled with Oceania champs New Zealand, New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea and open its campaign against New Caledonia on March 18.
