BMS aims to reclaim girl’s zone title

Ballantine Memorial School has only one goal in mind and that is to reclaim the Suva Zone 1 girl’s title next week.

Finishing third in the zones meet last year, Sports Coordinator Bereta Laqere says they have made it their aim to set the record straight this year and come out victorious.

Laqere says the athletes are producing promising results and they are confident of a win in this year’s Suva Zone 1 meet.

“We’ve been preparing since week one of this term. We’ve been preparing them not only in houses but in events as well. That was one of our strategies because we would want to regain the girl’s title. We had come third last year and we are working really hard to get that title back.”

Analyzing the athletes’ performance in their athletics meet today, Laqere adds they may take more than 50 athletes to the Zone meet.

The Suva Zone 1 competition will be held next Thursday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
