The Fiji Football Association will continue its grassroots goalkeeper training program every Saturday at the Fiji FA Academy in Vatuwaqa.
Goalkeeper Development office Lice Waqaliti says the program is for both girls and boys.
“Our aim is to develop goalkeepers for the future,”
“There is a huge interest shown from some of the kids and we expect more to come,”
“We are extremely proud of the pathway we are able to offer our young people.”
“From U7-U16 there are sessions available to players relevant to their age and ability,”
“We take great pride in recognizing the importance of the goalkeeping position. The modern-day goalkeeper is a unique position within the sport of football.
“Not only has the goalkeeper got to be an individual within the team set up but he/she is also a vital part of the overall team.
“Our goalkeeping philosophy is to give all our goalkeepers the time and patience to be able to develop their goalkeeping skills in an environment that will teach the goalkeepers the four main pillars of the game. Technical, tactical, physical and psychological.
“There is no fee charged so interested children can just walk in and join the program every Saturday from 9-10am,”
