Koeman took charge in August 2020 and guided the club to a third-placed finish during his debut campaign.

It’s been a turbulent ride for the Dutchman, who’s had to contend with the loss of Barcelona’s greatest player in Lionel Messi.

He’s also been restricted to free transfers and rapid sales as the Spanish heavyweights look to tackle their £1.16bn debts.

Barca suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in their opening Champions League clash without registering a single effort on target.

They’ve also been lacklustre on the domestic front having failed to beat Atletico Bilbao, Granada and Cadiz – leaving them five points behind rivals Real Madrid.

After the draw with Granda, Koeman was accused of being disparaging about the club’s legendary ‘tiki taka’ DNA – calling it ‘tiki tiki’.

Reports in Spain suggest president Joan Laporta is losing patience with the 57-year-old and attentions have turned to who could replace him.

Former Swansea, Wigan and Everton boss Martinez is the frontrunner at odds of 15/8 with Betfair.

The Spaniard has been in charge of Belgium since 2016 with the Qatar World Cup likely to be his final tournament.

Club legend Xavi Hernandez is next in the betting market at 3/1 with academy graduate and Reims boss Oscar Garcia available at 11/2.

Antonio Conte is offered at 6/1 – ahead of the club’s assistant manager Alfred Schreuder at 13/2.

Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta is locked together with Erik Ten Haag and Domenec Torrent at 9s.
